Outreach, Organizing, and Diversity Work

  1. Co-organizer of Junior Kinetic Workshop
Mathematics Department, University of Wisconsin-Madison, April 19-21, 2019.
Qin Li and I organized a mini-workshop for junior researchers in kinetic theory, bringing together researchers working on the same problem from many different perspectives.

  2. Mentor, Directed Reading Program
Mathematics Department, University of Wisconsin-Madison, September 2018 - December 2018.
The directed reading program is a program in which undergraduate students work with graduate student mentors on a reading project designed by the mentor. The undergraduates have the opportunity to get research-like experience working one-on-one with their mentor, and give a presentation of their work at the end.

Mathematics Department, University of Wisconsin-Madison, September 2018 - December 2018.
Girls Math Night Out is a program designed to introduce high-school girls to math they would not ordinarily see in a classroom, and invite them to discover applicable and useful mathematics for themselves. Mentors and small groups of girls work through and explore projects together and find unfamiliar math out for themselves.

Mathematics Department, University of Wisconsin-Madison, October 2018.
The Madison Math Circle is a weekly series of mathematically based activities aimed at interested middle school and high school students. It is an outreach program organized by the UW Math Department. Our goal is to provide a taste of exciting ideas in math and science.
